An upcoming political thriller film ‘Reality’ adapted from the FBI interrogation transcript of American intelligence whistleblower Reality Winner. HBO will release the movie on May 29, 2023, and the official HBO youtube channel has also released its trailer.
The story follows a true story of a 25-year-old former Air Force linguist improbably named Reality Winner. On June 3, 2017, the FBI went to her home in Augusta, Georgia and she was interrogated and charged with leaking evidence of Russian interference in the U.S. election of Donald Trump then she was sentenced to five years and three months in prison which was the longest federal sentence for the unauthorized release of government information.
The film stars Sydney Sweeney as Winner and Josh Hamilton and Marchánt Davis as FBI agents Garrick and Taylor.
“Reality Winner is confronted by FBI agents arriving at her home to question her suspected role in handling classified information. Based on true events, the film’s dialogue is directly from the transcript of their tense and transfixing conversation.” According to HBO.
