Behind the Scenes of ‘Survivor’: Jeff Probst on Filming Challenges and His Future

Jeff Probst spoke with InTouch Weekly about his challenges while hosting the show, saying it was “the hardest challenge.”

Probst has been in the hearts of fans since 2000 and has also won the title of Emmy Award-winning host of the American version of the reality television show Survivor.

In an interview, he admitted, “Leaving and leaving home. And that is not a woe for me. That’s just the truth.”

He further added, “I love my family, I love my life at home, the comfort of a cup of coffee and my routine, and every time I have to leave, I remind myself, that’s the reason you get to get up and have a cup of coffee is this amazing show you get to do.”

He also reflected on real life: “I always thought I would have this family and this great family unit because that’s where I came from. And then, one day, I met this woman, and it happened. And she had two kids,”

Looking back, the most awaited reality television game show actor, Probst, spent much time with his wife, Lisa Ann Russell.

They got married in 2011, and now they have two children, Michael and Ava.

Jeff told Larry King 2012, “[Lisa and Mark] raised these kids with the kind of love they just see … us as two more parents.”

The last season, 47 of Survivor, is scheduled to be released in 2024, but fans are still worried about the show’s future.

A big question now is whether Jeff will continue to host the CBS show after season 50.

The actor said this during the “On Fire” podcast episode: “I still love Survivor very much. I think that’s pretty clear,”

“Survivor 50 is our next big target in terms of a milestone, but you’ve got to remember: We’ve got to get there. So you have to do 45 and 46, then you have to do 47 and 48, then you have to do 49, then you get to 50. So it is one at a time.”

In 2023, Jeff made it clear that he still “loves” and “needs” to be a part of the Survivor family.

TV host tells Entertainment Weekly in 2022, “It goes beyond creative expression or professional recognition. It’s much deeper. It aligns with the ideas I try to impress on our players.”

“It’s about pushing myself further than I think I can go, about trying to stay in the moment and adapt to my surroundings, about being a good ‘tribe member,’ about being open to new ideas and new people. The same opportunities Survivor offers the players, it offers me.”

Survivor 46 debuts on Wednesday, February 28.
