Hamish Linklater & Lily Rabe’s Directorial Debut Film, “Downtown Owl” gets Trailer

Sony Pictures is coming with its new comedy-drama film, Downtown Owl, which is coming under the direction of Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater in their directorial debuts.

The film is an on-screen adaptation of the 2008 novel, which was penned by Chuck Klosterman, and the script was written by Hamish Linklater.

Hamish Linklater wrote the screenplay, and Lily Rabe, Ed Harris, Vanessa Hudgens, August Blanco Rosenstein, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Finn Wittrock star in the leading roles.

The trailer was released on 26 Mar 2024 and features Julia Rabia, played by Rabe, arriving in the fictional town of Owl. Some residents, like Horace (Ed Harris), are unwelcoming, while the students are unmotivated.

Others, like Eli (Jack Dylan Grazer), are difficult to deal with. Julia’s coworkers are a diverse group. Coach Laidlaw takes out his frustrations on others, and Naomi (Vanessa Hudgens) struggles with respecting personal boundaries.

Downtown Owl will have a limited release on April 23 on Sony Pictures; the film also premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, 2023.
