The 1988 film Beetlejuice was greatly appreciated by the audience. Now, this year, the sequel of Beetlejuice is going to be “Beetlejuice 2,” which is also known as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The upcoming film Beetlejuice 2 stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe.
Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to be theatrically released on September 6, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Michael Keaton Reflects on ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel Filming Time
Recently, Michael Keaton discussed the idea of a Beetlejuice sequel ‘Beetlejuice 2’ and recounted his filming experience during the filming of ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.’
Keaton said that filming the ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel was the most exciting experience he has ever had.
In an interview with People.com on February 19, 2024, actor Michael Keaton said:-
“It’s the most fun I’ve had on set in a long time,”
“On one hand, you’d go, ‘Well, of course it’s the most fun. It looks like fun.’ As you know, it doesn’t always work like that.”

The actress said he and film director Burton have been considering the possibility of a Beetlejuice sequel for years, he further added:-
“We thought, ‘You got to get this right. Otherwise, just don’t do it. Let’s just go on with our lives and do other things.’ So I was hesitant and cautious, and he was probably equally as hesitant and cautious over all these years,”
“Once we got there, I said, ‘Okay, let’s just go for it. Let’s just see if we can do it, if we can pull this off.’”

One of Keaton’s main creative decisions was not to rely on CGI to create the fantasy world and creatures.
The actor said:-
“The one thing that he and I decided on early, early, early on from the beginning, if we ever did it again, I was totally not interested in doing something where there was too much technology,” “It had to feel handmade.”
He further added:
“What made it fun was watching somebody in the corner actually holding something up for you, to watch everybody in the shrunken head room and say, ‘Those are people under there, operating these things, trying to get it right.’ It’s the most exciting thing. When you get to do that again after years of standing in front of a giant screen, pretending somebody’s across the way from you, this is just enormous fun.”
The SAG-AFTRA strike is still continuing and influencing almost all the upcoming movies and series, and the fantasy comedy film Beetlejuice 2 is also one of them, as the strike halted the production of Beetlejuice 2.
The filming of Beetlejuice was delayed due to the strike and filming was finally completed in November 2023.
