To gain something, one has to lose something; the same is with many actresses as well; they too have to struggle to leave their children alone when they go to shoot.
The same thing happened with New Zealand actress Melanie Lynskey, left her 5-year-old daughter at home alone as she went for the filming.
But mom Melanie discovered a technique for her daughter so that she does not get bored at home. The actress set with People and revealed how she managed her daughter and shoot.
“She loves to write notes and receive notes, like little cards that say, ‘I love you so much,’ or if she gets upset about something, she’ll write out an apology card,” Lynskey says.
“It says, ‘I’m sorry for getting upset that I wasn’t allowed a lollipop,’ or whatever. So we have stacks and stacks of cards that we’ve written each other.”
Before she went to London, she “cut little heart shapes out and left her little surprise notes, which she found within 24 hours. She went on a mission; she got so excited,”.
“So she’s like, ‘Where are the rest of my notes?’ I’m like, well, you found them. You found 12 notes, but one was in her lunchbox and one was under her pillow and stuff like that. So that’s her favorite thing.”
‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’ actress also talked about her husband and revealed that Jason ‘Sacrificing’ Roles for Her Career Success.
“He’s the most supportive person in the world,” Lynske told People. “The last few years we’ve had this role of like, whoever’s job makes the most sense, whether it’s the most exciting career wise or it’s more money, we would prioritize the one that was going to help move the person’s career forward.”
On December 19, 2023, Mummy Melanie went to Instagram to wish her daughter on her 5th birthday. She shared a picture of her daughter and captioned it,
“The kindest, sweetest, coolest little person. I can’t believe how lucky I am to be her mama. 5 years of pure joy 💖”
