Mark Gatiss’ New Crime Drama ‘Bookish’ Begins Filming, Cast Announced

English actor and comedian Mark Gatiss is busy filming a new crime drama show these days whose title is ‘Bookish,’ which stars Call the Midwife star Ella Bruccoleri.

Mark Gatiss, who played roles in series like Sherlock and Nolly, is now busy filming a new series, ‘Bookish.’ The filming of the upcoming show is currently filming and its cast has also been announced.

Along with Polite Society star Ella Bruccoleri, the other show cast members include Blake Harrison, The Power of Parker actor Rosie Cavaliero, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, and Poldark‘s Luke Norris.

The series is set in 1940s London and stars Gatiss as “scholar and unconventional” detective Gabriel Book, who helps the police unravel baffling cases and various mysterious crimes through the knowledge of the antiquated books in his shop.

The bookish series’ release date is still under wraps, but it is likely to be released by 2025, and it will be available to be shown on UKTV’s Alibi channel.

In addition to the cast mentioned above, in the series, Bridgerton star Polly Walker plays the role of Book’s wife, Trottie, with Gatiss, who runs a wallpaper shop in the series.

There is deep love between Gabriel Book and Trottie but their relationship is not physical, they have married Lavender.

The other cast members who show their acting skills in this show include Tom Forbes, Amanda Drew, Michael Workéyè, Joely Richardson, Daniel Mays, Jonas Nay, Connor Finch, Elliot Levey and Buket Kömür.

As per yahoo reports, Bookish filming has currently begun in Belgium, as the first image from the set shows star Mark Gatiss and Polly Walker standing on a narrow, cobbled road near a retro car.
