Final Destination 2 Filming Locations: Final Destination 2 is a 2003 American supernatural horror film that came under the direction of David R. Ellis.

The story of the film was written by J. Mackye Gruber and Eric Bress and it is based on a story by Gruber, Bress, and creator Jeffrey Reddick.

It is the second part of the Final Destination film series and a sequel to Final Destination which came in 2000.

Cook and Michael Landes serve as the leading cast and is produced by Warren Zide and Craig Perry.

Final Destination 2 began filming on Feb 18, 2002, and ended after a few months on May 3, 2002, in various locations in British Columbia, Canada including Campbell River, Plaza of Nations, and Vancouver just like its first installment.

Films producer, Perry also revealed the reason for filming in British Columbia by saying, “We know the area, we know the people up there and let’s be honest, there’s an enormous economic incentive to shoot there.”

“We were very fortunate to get [unit production manager] Justis Greene, who’s been working as a line producer up there for 30 years and who was able to get us the best crew working in town right now.” the producer added.

“It was advantageous to us on so many levels, that it was just the right place to go for this movie” He continued.

The production team utilized several wonderful locations in Vancouver and British Columbia which made the the film more realistic and attractive.

The scene for the fire escape was shot at the 2549 Main Street building which was founded in 1908 in Vancouver. There are trees and clean roads around this building which makes it more beneficial for shooting.

Without any doubt, Vancouver is an excellent province for shooting and that’s why several producers and filmmakers choose this place, it also stands as the third-largest film and TV production center in North America.

The production team also shot the horror film at Plaza of Nations in Vancouver. The set up for the shooting of Tim’s death was set in the Plaza of Nations.

Along with Tim’s death scenes, some scenes of a dentist’s office were also taped at the Ellis, Medical Complex in 750 Pacific Boulevard.

Campbell River is best known for its farm and lake locations and the production team tour to Campbell River captured these mindblowing farm and lake views. The cast also enjoyed shooting scenes as the beautiful valleys and pure air of the place impressed them.

The leading character, Michael Landes also talked about his experience while filming, “We shot part of it at the lake where it was 37° cold, which is beyond an ice cream headache.

“And the second stuff we shot in a big huge tank where we filmed all the underwater sequence, that was in a 93° pool,” Landes added.

One of the main cast members, Cook performed stunts and divulged his fear. He said, “My biggest fear is being trapped in a car underwater. So it was kind of cool to face my fear and all that,” Apart from Campbell River, the makers also tape the breathtaking views from Okanagan Lake.

The scenes of the accident also took place in Campbell River on Highway 19 near the intersection at Willis Road.
