An upcoming American supernatural comedy film “Untitled Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel” is the sequel to Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), and the fifth film in the Ghostbusters franchise.
The film is directed by Gil Kenan and written by Jason Reitman. The filming of the film started on March 20, 2023, in London under the working title “Firehouse” and Eric Steelberg served as the cinematographer.
The cast and crew were spotted in New York City and were doing a stunt scene in a video posted on June 7, 2023. Columbia Pictures Ghost Corps just confirmed that filming has officially wrapped on June 23, 2023.
The news was announced by executive producer Eric Reich via Instagram stories along with his fellow producer Erica Mills and both seem to be wearing Ghostbusters t-shirts. Reich added a caption with it which reads, “That’s a wrap! What an amazing experience in London with @ericaannemills and the entire cast and crew of Firehouse.”
The film is set to be released by Sony Pictures Releasing on December 20, 2023, along with Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, Logan Kim as Podcast, Celeste O’Connor as Lucky Domingo, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, and Bill Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman.
