Fede Alvarez’s Alien will officially begin filming and 20th Century Studios has also revealed a few more names on the cast list of the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cailee Spaeny was announced as the lead of the ninth installment then David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu are also added to the cast and will be featuring in the film. The science-fiction horror franchise’s new film Alien will be directed by filmmaker Fede Alvarez.
Filming of the film will begin on March 9, 2023. However, 20th Century Studios hasn’t announced a release date for the film. Plot details of the film have not been announced but the franchise will focus on a group of young people, unlike adults.
The film will take place in a colony that will is distant in outer space that becomes overrun with Xenomorphs and the film will not acknowledge the main series of Alien entries.
The film is based on the original Alien directed by Ridley Scott several years ago. Alvarez after getting greenlight from scoot began writing the script with his Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe collaborator Rodo Sayagues.
