All that buzz on social media that A$AP Rocky came to Kansas City to make a video a few weeks ago? It was right.
It was actually the two-time Grammy-nominated musician filming a video for his latest single, “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)”, in the city’s West Bottoms with the support of local musicians, actors, makeup artists, art teams, and others.
Kansas City production company Nomada worked with the rapper for six months to prepare for the video to be filmed here, said the company’s Jason “Jay” Eubanks.
The video can to on Tuesday and as of Thursday afternoon it had more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.
Rocky shared a post on Instagram with his wife Rihanna. The couple was spotted in Kansas City and are set to welcome their second baby together.
Rocky was spotted shooting his music video outside the haunted houses in the West Bottoms on June 4. He was also seen driving a yellow Hummer around Kansas City with an escort from the Kansas City Police Department.
Last week, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas shared a video on tweeter that the rapper shot a commercial for Beats headphones in the West Bottoms, too.

Fans keep an eye on A$AP Rocky’s cars in the city, including a Mercedes-Benz that appears in the video. According to HotCars.com, he is a well-known “gearhead” who has an “impressive car collection, ranging from exotic supercars to impressive luxury cars and everything in between”.
