The music industry has lost the Script’s co-founder and guitarist Mark Sheehan. The band announced the news to the fans in their social media post on Friday.
“Much loved husband, father, brother, bandmate, and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness. The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time.” they captioned the post and posted a photo of Mark Sheehan.
The Irish musician Mark Sheehan died after a brief illness aged 46 and the Irish president, Michael D Higgins has also shared grief on Sheehan’s death with statements that read, “All those who knew Mark Sheehan, and those millions more who enjoyed and appreciated his music will have been deeply shocked to hear of his too-early death.”
Michael D Higgins concluded by saying “suaimhneas síoraí dá anam,” means “eternal peace to his soul”.
Sony Music UK has also posted on its Twitter account grieving about Mark Sheehan’s death.
