FX Pilot “The Sensitive Kind” Filming in Tulsa

The creator is directing a new FX pilot episode following Reservation Dogs, produced by Ethan Hawke and Sterlin Harjo.

The show Tulsa Noir is about a boy named Hawk who knows a lot. The new crime show is set to begin filming in Tulsa.

The show is titled “The Sensitive Kind,” in which Hawke guest-starred as Rick Miller from Reservation Dogs, playing Elora’s father.

As reported by news9, TV production crews have been roaming around the city for the past few weeks, and they can be easily seen by locals around the city.

On May 5, most crew members were seen around the set deliberating, while a few others remained in a fake law office and marijuana dispensary.

But no such celebrity was seen around the set.

The second news came in April that FX had handed a pilot order to The Sensitive Kind, a highly anticipated drama series created by Ethan Hawke and executive-produced by Sterlin Harjo.

One of the locals, barista Audrey Welborn, told me about the filming: “So I don’t know what Ethan Hawke looks like, and everyone keeps asking me if I’ve seen Ethan Hawke, and I don’t know.”

He only revealed that the production team, cast, and crew had been in downtown Tulsa for approximately a few weeks.

She also served coffee to the team to keep them supplied.

Welborn also said, “I feel like I know it’s good because the people from like this show are coming in and getting our coffee, and I’m like, okay, it’s pretty cool,”

She added, “I’m trying to make a short film, and so I’m asking questions, and they’re all so nice.”

During the day, there was a coffee shop on the roadside in front of the set, which was of great help to the crew. They were found preparing something there as if they were making coffee.

But on Thursday night, the filming took place at a bar, which turned out to be a perfect location for the action.

Lot 6 owner Vanessa Somerville said, “They’re under a shelter-in-place, and with the lightning, they can’t operate normally right now.”

This is one good idea for increasing the business of Somerville’s bar, but the crew is not allowed to drink.

“They’re just hanging out in here, drinking water and playing games,” added Somerville.

It is also revealed that the production company had rented the bar for the entire night, where no outsiders are allowed.

That means that they are paying me the amount of money that I would have normally made to be open for everybody else, so I’m close to everybody else right now and just open for them,” the owner shared.

The crew had to wait until the sun came up to film on set, while the bar would be closed at 2 a.m., meaning they would have to wait for a rest stop before the last call.

The is just an FX pilot show, which means it will never be streamed on TV, but if it does, hopefully, it will air late next year.

The Sensitive Kind went into production following the conclusion of Reservation Dogs’ three-season finale, which won numerous awards.

Last week, TV producer John Landgraf told Deadline, “We have glaring needs for new dramas and comedies, starting in 2025.”

He added, “desperate to find the next great thing.”
