Disney+ K-Drama ‘Uncle Samsik’ Trailer Breakdown

One of Disney Plus‘ most anticipated K-dramas, Uncle Samsick has released its trailer.

The film’s trailer begins with the conversation “Do you know how the world turns, Mr. Kim? Spring comes, and then summer. Flowers bloom, flowers fall.”

Ryu Tae-ho replied “Yes”

After that a door opened with the actor’s grand entry “I’m the one who does this”

The trailer opens by describing the story of the series’ titular character’s rise to fame and more of the political conspiracy surrounding the show’s generation before diving into the K-drama thrills.

Shin Yeon-shik directed and wrote the new upcoming K-drama, best known for originally writing the 2023 film Cobweb.

Parasite star Song Kangho plays Uncle Samik in his first TV role as his titular character. Other actors were later joined by Byun Yo-han of Mr. Sunshine fame as Kim San.

However, Tiffany Young will be playing the role of Rachel Jung.

The series’s other cast includes Lee Kyu-hyung and Jin Ki-joo, famous for My Perfect Stranger, Seo Hyun-woo.

What is the Storyline of Uncle Samsik?

The new K-drama will launch with five episodes, and two new episodes will be released every week until June 19, when the three-part season will conclude with 16 episodes.

The official synopsis of the film follows

Uncle Samsik introduces himself to Kim San as the one who can turn his world around — promising that he can make any dream a reality. However, as Samsik’s plan for Kim San unfolds, more people interfere. Is Samsik truly the one who will fulfill Kim San’s dream, or is he leading him onto a dark path of corruption?

Talking about the character Rachel Jung, Tiffany Young commented, “I tried to analyze and interpret the character’s psyche for Rachel Jung and also for her chemistry with the other characters.”

She further added, “The filming set was like a dreamlike place. This is a project that inspires me to move forward boldly with hope.”

Shin Yeon Sik also praised Tiffany Young for her portrayal “Tiffany Young has a very good command of the language, so she gave a lot of suggestions about the English lines,”

On April 2, Disney Plus KR posted a poster of the film as fans waited for the series to be released.
