Worcester Transforms into Zombie Land for ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Filming

Worcester residents were eagerly waiting to see the shooting of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ as it transforms Worcester into Zombie Land.

People living near Worcester are getting a lot of new things to see this week as their beloved city is being converted into a zombie land, spectrumnews1 reports.

After seeing the set preparation a fan said, “I think it looks amazing, even with the New York subway station across the street, It looks so realistic”

Another added, “It’s pretty awesome to see this so close to home,”

The production crew worked hardest to make this change; They created a zombified version of New York City in Worcester. They put street signs, trash bins, trash, and debris, and leaves to simulate autumn.

A fan revealed that there weren’t many zombies present on Thursday morning, some people still visited the set.

“We got a whole scene set,” The fan added, “I’m like, we’re walking through the dead.”

Preparations for the filming commenced on Thursday, April 25, and filming is expected to continue through the rest of this week and into next.

The parking area will be banned from Monday, May 2, until Tuesday, May 7, for filming on Norwich Street between Foster and Mechanic Streets and on Commercial Street on the even side between 142 Commercial St. and Mechanic Street.

Stalwart Productions, LLC posted the note by writing, “Our cast and crew are excited to film in Worcester, and it is only through the continued support of neighborhood businesses like yours that the Massachusetts film industry can continue to grow and thrive …Thank you in advance for allowing us to film in your community.”

Worcester residents cannot wait to watch the episodes of this series as they want to see a new look at their city.

Gaius Charles, Lauren Cohan, Lisa Emery, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Mahina Napoleon are included in the main roles.
