The Horror Classic That Inspired “Late Night With the Devil”

One of the hit horror movies, Late Night with the Devil, gained more popularity through streaming after its theater release.

The horror has earned itself among the best horror films in its theatrical release, earning a near-perfect rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Late Night with the Devil was released in the United States by IFC Films on March 22, 2024, followed by Australia on April 11, grossing $11 million.

According to Horror Geek Life, the new horror hit Shudder on April 19 and set a new record.

In the case of horror-based films, after reaching a solid opening weekend so far, the film has become a new identity.

Colin and Cameron Cairns directed and wrote the film, which starred David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, Ian Bliss, Faisal Bazzi, Ingrid Torelli, Rhys Autry, Georgina Haig, and Josh Quong Tart.

Late Night with the Devil brings two classic horror movies together

The film follows the story of a nightly talk show episode released on Halloween night of 1977 and incorporates elements and footage from other documentary film productions.

The film focuses on two sides of the story, with one side of the film focusing on the story of a young girl named Lily who survives the mass suicide of a satanic cult.

The other aspect of the film focuses on Jack Delroy, who achieved material success by sacrificing his morals.

Combining the two films, the ending took several twists and turns reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.

Read out the official Synopsis of the film: “Just like Jack sacrifices his wife during a ritual in a satanic cult, Guy in Rosemary’s Baby trades his wife’s well-being to serve the best interests of an evil coven.”

In addition to combining horror classic films, it recreates many of the disturbing moments from The Exorcist, with the addition of a projectile vomit scene.

Jack Delroy’s overall narrative film resembles Rosemary’s Baby, which was released in 1968.

In the same way that Jack sacrifices his wife during a satanic cult ritual, Baby Trades sacrifices his wife for the welfare of an evil cult to serve its best interests.

Late Night with the Devil has given server horror movie mixers a new movie with a unique twist and turn into its entertaining tale.

Praising the film, Courtney Thomasma, EVP of streaming programming at AMC Networks, said: “Coming off a record-breaking theatrical run, we’re thrilled to give Late Night its streaming debut on Shudder as we continue to bring our passionate subscribers the very best in horror, with projects that represent the depth and breadth of this genre,”

Thomasma said, “Working alongside our sister company, IFC Films, to bring this fantastic film to an even broader audience is another example of the great synergy of these two brands and how the horror genre continues to resonate and be embraced by fans.”

“We knew Late Night with the Devil was audacious, frightening, and crowd-pleasing in equal measure, and we are ecstatic to see that so fully embraced by our existing and brand-new members.”
