After hearing a lot of rumors about Saving Bikini Bottom, the film is finally coming to Netflix this summer.
The film is still set to arrive on Netflix after it leaked just in time for Christmas. Hearing loads of rumors regarding the SpongeBob Squarepants spin-off and being scheduled for release in 2023, the film is slated to air on Netflix in the summer of 2024.
Netflix has also kept the timing of the release date very good, as this is the time when children are on vacation and can watch it without any load.
It seems that Netflix is also based on the film, which is why the release date has been kept with much consideration.
Liza Johnson who also worked in The Last of Us, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Dead to Me has directed the movie and the voice cast includes
Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, and Doug Lawrence as Plankton.
The duo of Kaz and Tom Stern wrote the script and Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller serve as executive producers.
Netflix’s description of the new animated film says, “Bikini Bottom has been stolen! Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob watch in disbelief as everyone’s favorite town is scooped out of the ocean by a sinister, mysterious company.”
“Now, Sandy and SpongeBob must go on an epic quest to Sandy’s home state of Texas and enlist her family to help save Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and the rest of the gang before time runs out.”
“Continuing the franchise’s iconic blend of animation and live-action, Saving Bikini Bottom brings all the charm and irreverence of the series to the wild west in this SpongeBob Squarepants spin-off from director Liza Johnson.”
