Timothée Chalamet Transforms into Dylan: Filming Begins on ‘A Complete Unknown’

A Complete Unknown, a biopic of Bob Dylan, officially started filming with Timothée Chalamet as Bob.

A Complete Unknown will be directed by James Mangold and chart Dylan’s rise to becoming one of the top singer-songwriters.

On Sunday, March 17, Chalamet was seen at the biopic’s shoot in NYC. Chalamet looked exactly like Bob Dylan in his younger days during the filming.

To transform into Dylan, Chalamet was seen in jeans, a brown jacket, and a chunky scarf.

His signature curls were hidden under a Chalamet cap, completing the young Dylan look.

While filming, Timothée Chalamet carried a guitar case and notebook, just like a young musician. He even strolled down the street lost in thought, just like Bob Dylan might have.

Filming for the movie was initially planned for April 2023 in New York and Montreal, but because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, it got delayed to July 2023.

They finally started filming this month (March 2024) in New Jersey.

Other cast members will include Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Nick Offerman as Alan Lomax, and P. J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal.
