Initially, the first two seasons of Big Brother (2000–2001) were filmed in 3 Mills Studios, Bow, London.
Then, after planning expired in 2002, they shifted the home to Elstree Studios, Borehamwood (2002–2018).
The house’s interior has changed yearly, reflecting a specific theme or twist in the game. The fifth season featured stricter rules and consequences, a harsher color scheme, and a claustrophobic setting.
In January 2019, two months after the conclusion of the nineteenth series, work began to demolish and renovate the house at Elstree Studios.
On 17 February 2019, an ex-presenter, Emma Willis, posted a photo on her Instagram account showing that demolition work on the house had been completed.
Afterward, for the filming of the following seasons, Garden Studios, Park Royal, London, is chosen to shoot interior scenes of the house (2023–present), London’s most prominent studio.
