The music icon Rihanna bagged her first Oscar nomination for
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever song “Lift Me Up”
Rihanna’s first single in six years, ‘Lift Me Up’, the part of the official soundtrack for the upcoming Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The song was co-written by Rihanna with singer Tems, producer Ludwig Goransson, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and the song was written as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
Rihanna made a comeback with “Lift Me Up” after being busy with entrepreneurial things and motherhood. The song was her first Oscar nomination this year.
Director Ryan Coogler previously revealed that “she was at a point in her life as well where she was focusing on different things focused on business, motherhood, which is a big theme in our film,”.
Tems the co-singer with Rihanna also said: “I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them, Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”
