If you watch the movie, they say it is shoot in Australia, but if you listen to the villains, they are all speaking TAGALOG, which means it is not from Australia, it is more likely to be in the Philippines, unless, all the actors that are villains that are hired are all Filipinos.
This is definitely NOT filmed in the Philippines. The terrain and foliage are not endemic to the Philippines but it was easy enough to add banana and palm fronds. There are many Filipinos in Australia so it would be logical that this was in Australia using Filipinos there

The forest is 100% Australia, I lived in the bush in Australia and there is no where else in the world that looks like that, Australia is so unique in the bush area, you can even tell its australia when russell crowe drives from the supermarket back to the base, i know the supermarket and i know the road he turns left out of, 100% all scenes are filmed in Australia
