Warner Bros. Cancels Release of Completed ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Starring John Cena

Warner Bros cancels the release of mostly completed Coyote vs. Acme and approaches John Cena as lead. According to a statement, Warner Bros completed a $70m movie to take an estimated $30m tax write-down.

Warner Bros Pictures also in a statement said theatrical films as the reason for not releasing the movie, They said, “With the re-launch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases.”

WB continued, “With this new direction, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with Coyote vs Acme. We have tremendous respect for the filmmakers, casts, and crew, and are grateful for their contributions to the film.”

As per the previous announcements made by WB, the movie first going to be released on July 21, 2023, but it was pushed by the team. It is not the first time WB canceled the movie when it was about to complete.

Coyote vs. Acme is directed by Dave Green, and his direction is always loved by the audience, also amazon wants to be the distributor of the movie, but WB made their decision to quit the movie.

Director Dave Green expresses his feelings, after the news of quitting the movie. He said, “For three years, I was lucky enough to make a movie about Wile E. Coyote, the most persistent, passionate, and resilient character of all time.”

He continued, ” I was surrounded by a brilliant team, who poured their souls into this project for years. We were all determined to honor the legacies of these historic characters and actually get them right.”

He further said, ” Along the ride, we were embraced by test audiences who rewarded us with fantastic scores. I am beyond proud of the final product, and beyond devastated by WB’s decision. But in the spirit of Wile E. Coyote, resilience and persistence win the day.”

It is very disappointing to the audience who waited for a long for its release, but Warner Bros passed this statement mockingly. Maybe, they cancel the plan of quitting the movie in the mid-way.
