Downtown Brenham: Street Closures for Indie Comedy/Monster Flick ‘ICK’ Filming

The City of Brenham has declared street closures for the next few days for a film project shooting in downtown Brenham.

This upcoming film is an independent feature film called “ICK”. The genre of the film is a comedy/monster film and similar to “The Blob” and “Ghostbusters”.

Today, (3, August, 2023) they will close Alamo Street from Austin Street to Park Street between 7 am to 7 pm.

And, Tomorrow, (4, August 2023), they will first be closing Market Street from Alamo Street to Main Street from 4:30-9 pm.

And then they planned to close Alamo Street from Park Street to Baylor Street, including the intersections, from 9-11:30 p.m.

ICK is coming under the direction of Joseph Kahn, a notable director of music videos and commercials for the last 20 years. This is his fourth feature film.

Locations Manager of the film, Brennan Hawley stated that the main objective of the film is to show the film industry and the state that Texas is a viable location for film and television production.

Hawley said he wants to bring more jobs to Texas, as well as provide more tax incentives so that even larger production can activate and impact the region.
