Venom 3 Stopped Filming for Actors Strike: The filming of Venom 3 has been put on hold, as the upcoming Sony superhero spin-off sequel has been affected by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, This strike had also derailed the upcoming film Venom 3.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The production of Venom 3 has been put on hold after the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) announced a strike on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
The report confirms that production on the upcoming Marvel film was started in Spain in late June and little is known about the sequel’s story.
Previously, the film was scheduled to premiere in October 2024, although how that may change as a result of the strike is unknown.
Only Venom 3 is not influenced by the SAG-AFTRA strike, several movies and tv shows are also kept on hold, some of them include, Deadpool 3, Gladiator 2, Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part 2, and Brad Pitt’s untitled F1 drama.
Who is making Venom 3?
Kelly Marcel who is known for Saving Mr. Banks in 2013, Venom in 2018, Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015 is directing the upcoming film. The story of the film is written by Tom Hardy, from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel.
The third part of Venom is coming under the production of Avi Arad, Tom Hardy, Kelly Marcel, Hutch Parker, and Matt Tolmach with the executive producer Joseph M. Caracciolo Jr.
Juno Temple, Tom Hardy, and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also returning as the leading role for the film.
A new artist we know for sure is joining is Chiwetel Ejiofor who is famous for his role as Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange as well as the sequel, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
