The filming of the series started in early October 2020 to 2 November 2021 at Ashford Studios, Wicklow, where previous Vikings were filmed but because of COVID-19, the filming was suspended due to a number of positive COVID-19 tests and was resumed after a few days. Lough Tay is a small but scenic lake set on private property in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. The lake lies between the mountains of Djouce and Luggala. Some scenes from the series were shot on the shores of the Lake.

Wicklow is the county town of County Wicklow in Ireland. Over the years of shooting, spotting Vikings’ Long ships along the Wicklow Coast is common and they are placed in between the Black Castle in Wicklow Town and Brittas Bay.
