As the original Poldark novels by Winston Graham, it was also set in Cornwall so it makes sense that filming for the TV series also took place within Cornwall to make it look realistic and authentic.

Porthcurno Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and nearby Pedn Vounder is covered with sandy coves along the southwestern coast. Porthcurno was used to film Poldark’s fictional Nampara Cove.

The sandy beach area with beautiful views and high mountains all around and a stunning beach was used by the production team to film many scenes of the series mainly in season two of Poldark in which we can see Demelza and Ross walking along the beach as part of a dream sequence. 

Holywell is a coastal village in north Cornwall and is hugely important for Poldark in both the BBC drama and in the original books as the Holywell beach is another key filming location and the beach remind the fans of the series of the Ross Poldark emerging from the water and his romantic beach walks with Demelza. Charlestown near St Austell is another filming location of the series.

Park Head is a stretch of Cornwall that gives beautiful coastal scenery ad many horse-riding scenes, dramatic walking, and different scenes from Poldark were filmed in and around this location.

First up is Bristol Old Vic a Georgian theatre and the location was used as a London theatre where Poldark and some friends spent the evening in season 5.
